Debbie dancing 'If God, then...'

This is me in ‘If God, then…’ , the dance I developed as part of my PhD studies.

Writer, publisher (D A Bright), teacher, creative and performing artist, dancer and choreographer.

A specialist in creative and performing arts (particularly dance) and adult education, I have taught and performed in New Zealand and abroad, including the USA, UK, Australia, Costa Rica, Suriname, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Western Samoa.

I am passionate about creativity, the arts, spaces for the voiceless in research, and learning that is accessible to many.

I am a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother and I live with my husband, Stephen, in Hamilton, New Zealand. I have ancestral and family links with both European and indigenous New Zealand (Māori) peoples.

About Bright Books

Bright Books was established in 2013, with the aim of providing accessible academic texts that recognise diversity and minority worldviews. These books are available in both print and e-book form, and are particularly useful to university libraries, artists, teachers and students, indigenous learners, adult educators and researchers.

To find out more about how Bright Books came to be, read my blog post Why do I publish books like these?
